Although the majority of the pulpwood and paper industries are in the South, Southeast and Northwest there is some logging activity in parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah. The forestry in these areas is better suited for lumber or plywood than the soft pine pulpwood in the Southern Tier of States.
Processing wood and wood by products to yield marketable products involves the use of a variety of chemicals and processes, some of which are caustic and/or corrosive. That fact pattern bears fruit for inspection companies by the need for regular inspections.
